About The Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role will focus on supporting the Plant Manager to ensure that each site has the adequate Plant resource available. We are seeking a strong candidate with a working knowledge of Plant/Plant hire department or business with strong administrative, and reporting skills, as well as the interest and ability to progressing to Plant Manager within 4-5 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the 12/20 Weekly Maintenance Schedule ref RSA requirement.
  • Support the Plant Manager and the Garage Foreman in setting appropriate HSQE standards and assist them in putting in place the necessary procedures, traceability and targets to ensure standards are met.
  • As required, assist the Plant Manager in liaising with the Purchasing Manager to ensure each Site has all the necessary consents and Plant requirements and assist in the reporting of any contraventions in good time and through the Company structure.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in ensuring that all necessary inspections and audits are in place to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment.
  • Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, assist with the logistics of Plant relocation/ replacement cost and overheads. Manage plant disposal records.
  • Understand the financial responsibility of the operational activities of all Plant including maximising gross margin by reducing direct costs, manage the apportioning of materials and parts against plant assets, and assist in the preparation of the weekly Site plant costs.
  • Assure fulfilment of all compliance obligations.
  • Registering drivers and vehicles for BIK and managing the vehicle and plant database (spreadsheet).
  • Managing Fuel Cards- including the monitoring of their use, preparing weekly DCI/BP fuel card invoices, and allocating as per weekly/monthly job allocations, and preparing Month End Fuel Analysis Reports.
  • Manage the Daily Defects - Organise maintenance for vehicle and plant faults, service, and general repairs, including Tax, NCT, CVRT, DOE recording and scheduling.
  • Prepare Motor Tax, deal with tax office, record updates and issue discs, and managing Credit card/cheque payments.
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders and assist accounts department reconciling department related Invoices and queries.
  • General administration, document, and system management to support the Plant Manager and Garage Foreman.
  • Plant and Vehicle Management System – Geopal.
  • Accounts System – Navision.
  • Vehicle Tracking System – Kinesis.
  • Fuel Cards – Velocity/DCI & BP (UK).
  • Toll tags – Easytrip/Eflow.
  • Manage deliveries in/out.

About You

  • A degree in engineering and/or business or equivalent experience to support your
  • competency in the role.
  • Strong administration skills and experience of supporting a plant department/ working as a fleet/service coordinator in a hire company/large garage.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Ideally will have experience of working in a plant department in the in the Construction
  • Industry or Plant Hire industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience of working with multiple databases.
  • Must hold full clean Irish/EU driving license.
  • No sponsorship available.
